Shaping the future of maritime lighting solutions in partnership with our clients, we analyze the requirements and deliver cost- and energy efficient turnkey solutions underpinned by energy, NOx, Co2 and Cost benefit analysis reports for total investment control. By conducting survey prior and subsequently to installations, energy effectivity index progression can be presented.
Compliance with required product standards for maritime classifications and assessment of parameters e.g., EMC, THD, W, VA, Cos Phi is 4S Lighting basis for all solutions.

Requirements
RoHS is part of EU Directive 2002/95/EC and stands for Restrictions of Hazardous Substances. RoHS2 Directive 2011/65/EU was adopted on 8 June 2011 and is part of the EU’s chemicals strategy for sustainability and part of the EU’s zero-pollution ambition. The directive has been incorporated into the EEA Agreement and affects electrical and electronic products (CE products) with prohibitions on the use of lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB) and polybromertediphenyl ethers (PBDEs). This is with the intention of sparing the environment.
Why does this affect fluorescent light and when does it happen?
In 2012, the ban on incandescent bulbs came into force in the EU/EEA in order to reduce electricity consumption and improve energy efficiency. Like the incandescent bulb ban, many light sources, referred to as traditional light sources (not LED), will be banned during 2023. In this case, it is the content of the chemicals mentioned above, especially mercury, that triggers the ban. Several of these light sources have been temporarily exempt from the directive and the ban as there have not been good enough alternatives on the market. As of 2022, there are many good and far more energy-efficient LED alternatives that are completely free of the harmful mercury that is harmful to health and the environment. As a result of these developments, the EU has now set a timeframe for phasing out traditional compact fluorescent tubes and fluorescent lamps. A ban that would probably have come into effect even without RoHS due to the high energy consumption. This means that many light sources will become illegal to produce as well as to import into EU and EEA countries as early as February 2023. The largest phase-out will take effect from August 25, 2023. From that date, the majority of all fluorescent tubes, T5 and T8, will be phased out.

Highly efficient LED lighting plays a substantial role in conserving energy and minimizing emission footprint. 4S Lighting main objective is to assist our clients with the phase-out of fluorescent lighting for more energy-saving alternativesby eitherourretrofitsolutionsor complete lighting fixtures.
With reuse of preceding investments on casing and installation we have assisted our clients with cost efficient solutions, through utilizing already established infrastructure combined with 4S Lighting retrofit LED sourceswith external driver, pre-connected wires, and tube end holders, achieving significant reduction in energy expenditure. *Requiresonboard survey to verify the existing luminaries for conditions, quality, and type of tube end holders.
Existing T8/T5 fluorescent luminariesin areas with temperature up to 55°C. with bodies in high IP grade evaluated to be ingood conditions can be modified without replacement to new luminaries.
On projects where the existing infrastructure require replacements, complete lighting fixtures with the same LED and driver technology will assure the same cost-efficient solutions with significant reduction in energy consumption.
With the delivery of hundreds of thousands of LED retrofits, 4S Lighting has established a position as a trustworthy supplier for numerous of renowned companies.
For common areas and cabins requiring a more elegant design our high-quality partners bring dedication and knowhow to ensure that all requirements and targets are achieved.
Projects can be delivered as products only with support from our management for installation or turnkey solutions.
